For Sims3: MSI N450GTS-MD1GD3 GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit DDR3

Is this graphics card an overkill for the Sims 3? GTS 450?

I just want to be able to max the game out.
I got the card for 80 bucks

Yes. Even integrated graphics should run the Sims 3 just fine.

Additionally, the GTS 450 is extremely overpriced for what it is–you’d be better off with either a GTX 550ti or Radeon 6770 if you’re looking to spend $100 bucks on a graphics card.

If you’re just looking to run Sims 3, you could literally buy the cheapest video card you could possibly find and it would run great.

I’d suggest something like this:

Anyone who says a $100 GPU isn’t overkill for the Sims 3 is ignorant to the system requirements. The requirements are 128MB and pixel shader 2.0. You can’t even find a graphics card without twice those specs in a garbage can in 2012. Some people…>_> /rant

The card I linked will max it out, even at 1080p.

Hope I helped.
